Romantic Marrakech Ranks 5th in Worldwide List of Top Destinations, Earns Nearly 440 Million TikTok Views

Marrakech, the iconic red city of Morocco, has once again made a mark on the world tourism map by earning the fifth spot on a list of 23 romantic destinations worldwide. The ranking was based on the number of TikTok views generated by the hashtags #Marrakesh and #MarrakechLovers, with the city accumulating a staggering total of nearly 440 million views.

 

According to car rental company DiscoverCars, which compiled the list using data from TikTok and American business magazine Forbes, Marrakech is known as the "City of Luxury," offering couples the chance to indulge in 5-star hotels and numerous spas scattered throughout the city. The company utilized Forbes's list of 23 Best Places to Travel in 2023 and then analyzed the relevant hashtag of each location and a romantic-themed hashtag on TikTok before ranking them according to the number of views.

Aleksandrs Buraks, a spokesperson for DiscoverCars.com, said, "It's always valuable to keep an eye on current trends across social media platforms, particularly when it comes to travel. We found it extremely interesting to see locations such as Queenstown and Svalbard make the top five, which are not particularly the tourist hotspots that come to mind when it comes to planning a romantic break. It highlights just how many options couples have available to them."

Marrakech's appeal as a tourist destination is undeniable, with its unique culture and numerous attractions drawing visitors from all over the world. The city was recently voted the eighth-best city for tourists in TripAdvisor's Most Popular Tourist Destinations for 2023.

Earlier this month, Morocco also received recognition as the Best Picturesque Country in the World at the Diplomatic Awards 2023, presented by Embassy magazine-TravelJingles. The award is a testament to the country's rich heritage and enchanting beauty, further cementing its status as a top tourist destination.
